Five Brands to Consider When Buying a New Vacuum

“You get what you pay for” is a phrase often muttered among household appliances. With household vacuums, this couldn’t be more true. If you choose to purchase a budget vacuum from your local store under $40, it may last you a year or two, but not before losing suction power or dies completely. If you choose to invest in a well-known brand that costs a little more, chances are it will last you for several years to come. Here are a few of our favorite brands to look for:

Bissell

Dyson

Dyson has a full product line of every vacuum you could ever wish for. They tend to be on the higher end of the price range, but you definitely get what you pay for as these machines generally last 7-10 years. 

Shark

A popular brand and generally more affordable, Shark vacuums can get you what you need with out spending the extra $$$. They tend to have very generous warranties as well.

iRobot

Who doesn’t want a vacuum that cleans by itself? The iRobot was revolutionary when it was introduced in 2002 and is still a fan favorite. They aren’t capable of cleaning an entire house with it’s small receptacle, but there’s that peace of mind knowing your living room will be clean without having to lift a finger.

MieleT

One of the most durable vacuum brands, these vacuums have a tough canister that can keep going for ages. Most Miele customers tend to be pretty loyal as their products rarely fail. Keep in mind that these will top the charts as far as price, but they claim you won’t need a replacement for 15-20 years! 

It’s best to invest on what is going to work well with your home. Do you have a lot of carpeted areas? Do you have thick, deep carpets? Do you move a lot? Keep these variables in mind when choosing a vacuum, but treat yourself to something that will last a while!
