With one month left of summer, it’s time to maximize the greater length of daylight in the summer months and check off a few more adventures on your bucket list. We’ve come up with a list of fun activities to help you get some fresh air and the most fun out of your outdoor activities.

Standup Paddleboard Yoga

Take your love of yoga to the water! Adding in the extra element of balance on the paddleboard means some fantastic core work and a great workout on the water. Standup paddleboarding (S.U.P.) yoga will reinvigorate you and push you to become an even better yogi than you dreamed possible — all while enjoying the fantastic experience of floating on water. It’s calming, it’s empowering, and it’s fun!

Play Golf

Whether you are taking up golf for the first time or getting back together with the sport, golf is a fabulous way to spend time in the outdoors. Before you head to the tee for the very first time, research the courses in your area or your next vacation spot. Look for a public or “semi-private” course (with members but also welcomes the public golfer), or head for a local public driving range and hit some balls.

Go for a Hike

Embracing the outdoors can mean a relaxing day hike for as little as 30 minutes. Whether you are planning your next national park epic adventure or you want to check out new trails in your backyard, doing a little homework will enable you to maximize your preparation. There are numerous apps and websites to help you, such as AllTrails, Map My Run, and Lonely Planet, to help you prepare for your next adventure. On the AllTrails app, you can filter “best view nearby” to ensure you capture the most beautiful moments for those who can’t join you in person.

Play Pickleball

Pickleball is a fun game that’s growing in popularity. It’s quite similar to tennis, but a handful of differences make it unique: players use special paddles and a wiffle ball, and games take place on tennis courts with specific pickleball lines. Nets and court sizes are smaller than their tennis counterparts, and the most common match is doubles, although singles is also an option. Pickleball games are played on retrofitted tennis courts, so check out your local parks and recreation department to see if you can take lessons on public courts. Some private gyms also offer classes.

Go Stargazing

When you look up at the night sky, what do you see? While the star finder apps on your phone work great and you can buy eye pieces for a bigger view, nothing beats looking at the stars with a telescope! To really take in the full beauty of our solar system, you’ll want to visit the darkest places in the U.S. for some truly unforgettable stargazing on a clear night. Before you go, do some research on the locations, the weather, and the equipment you’ll need.

Soak It All In

Whatever you decide to do, do it and love it! Fall is just on the horizon with winter not far behind. If you’ve still got some activities on that Summer Fun List, be sure to live it up before these warm days and sunny evenings fade away.
